This week’s Logline Friday winner comes from an emailed logline, yet the winner has a Twitter account.  It’s all very confusing.

But nothing is confusing about the logline from winner Elizabeth E!  Check it out:

@LizEileenwrites – Sick of dating, an American woman decides to have an arranged marriage, but is torn between the man her parents pick, and the man she falls for when the honeymoon is over.

Man, that feels like one of the 10,000 romantic comedies my wife has dragged me to…

I mean, that sounds like an awesome movie!  Can’t wait to see it! :)

Somewhere between those two comments are my actual feelings about the logline…

One thing that isn’t ambiguous, however, is the fact that the pitch fits the main requirement for a successful logline: it seems like a movie. The concept is high and the conflict is clear.  If Elizabeth writes it well, this one could end up being a date flick starring Keira Knightley.* Can’t wait!!!

If you didn’t win this week, don’t give up!  Brush up on your logline skills by checking out the List of Past Logline Friday Winners

And remember, another Logline Friday is right around the corner.  In fact, it’s this Friday.

Seriously.  And…

* Yes, that is how her spell her name, and no, I didn’t have to look it up.   I really have seen a lot of romantic comedies, and I actually liked most of them. Seriously.
